Buying a train table is probably one of the best accessories you could get for your train set collections. Not only do they provide a perfect, safe area to set up a complete train village, but it's a great place to store all those train track pieces and accessories you always find in odd places of the house.

You can get a train table in all different sizes, shapes, colors, and different materials. There are wooden tables, plastic tables, tables that have storage drawers, and tables of all different sizes. There's one thing that is the same with every train table: they all have a basic scene pasted on the top of the table. It usually is a picture of green grass with a few flowers or roads here and there. It is just to provide a foundation for children, so they can use their imaginations to build off of the scenery on the table.

The smaller train tables are perfect for toddlers or a smaller train set. There is just enough room to create a little train track, while still having room to set up trees, buildings, people, and other little accessories. It is small enough to fit in a child's bedroom or in a corner of a living room, while still being large enough to play with.

There are also train tables that are much larger, great for older kids or even adults with a large collection of tracks. It's a great space to experiment on and build model cities on. However, since these tables are larger, they definitely take up a lot more space, and are consequently more expensive. A great place to set one of these tables up is in an open space in a basement. That gives you lots of room to maneuver and build.

A train table would make a perfect gift if you know someone who is into trains and train sets. Not only is it a fun, cleaner way to build with those train tracks, but it ensures that no paws or feet can destroy all your hard work.
